Since I introduced the concept of gerontonomia, it has travelled well beyond academia. It has now been taken up in 102 pieces across 86 outlets, 30 countries and 19 languages, from the New York Times, the Financial Times and the Economist to El País, Die Welt, Libération, Internazionale, Hürriyet and JoongAng Ilbo. The idea has been discussed in English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Greek, Turkish, Chinese, Korean and Japanese, among others, a reach that reflects how widely the politics of ageing now resonates across advanced democracies.
